THE MOUNTAIN’S STORY
The mountain has turned. Red, orange, and gold cover the trails. The Polar Bear runs through the leaves, vanishes, and bursts out again. The Boy finds old markers from previous Mountain to Shore journeys — some decades old, some from last October. The world feels large and strangely continuous. At evening they reach a clearing. Orange lights begin below. The Shoreline market is opening.
