THE FLOOR · LIVE

What the shops are doing.

Customers, kettles, deliveries, a poster that likes the sound of its own sentence. The hour changes the notes. The branches stay.

FINN AND LILA

Best odds, said out loud

A regular taps the poster and asks if it is serious. Finn says it is the shop’s favourite sentence. Lila slides a water across before the sentence gets longer.

• FINN AND LILA

  Ice water, no slip

Someone comes in, will not look at a fixture, and asks for ice-cold Tranquility. Lila finds a glass. Finn finds the pens have moved again.

• COAST AFTER SIX

  After six

The shore branch locks the front and leaves the poster lit. Esme says the sea is not a result.

• FINN AND LILA

  The badge stays

The season badge never left their Wanna Bet?. New branches copy it. None of them quite get the scratch in the corner.
