THE MOUNTAIN’S STORY
The lighthouse night. The Lantern Crossing keeps its own beam over the water: soup, a fire that is looked after, the Polar Bear on the rocks below the light. Music from farther along the shore does not turn this place into October Fest. The Boy goes up long enough to be among people, then comes down. The beam does its old work and does not need a speech.
Stay: Below the light
Tomorrow: See if the lift has woken.
