The Bear Who Found a Boat

The Polar Bear is gone before breakfast. The Boy searches and finds it sitting beside an old wooden boat, as if it got there first. The boat is Harbor Z’s. A stitched Z pennant hangs from the mast. The Boy checks the gear, loads food, and pushes off. The Bear sits at the bow. For a while the mountain is only a shape behind them.
